Gim·ber·nat y Ar·bós \ḵim-ber-ˈnät-ē-är-ˈbōs\ , Antonio de (1734–1816), Spanish surgeon and anatomist. Gimbernat was a pioneer in ophthalmology, vascular surgery, and urology. He demonstrated the ligament that now bears his name in 1768, although he did not publish a description of it until 1779.
